QUEEN o HEARTS

Hey dudes here is the last mp3 we're gonna throw out to try and entice you to get into the new record. This is the first song on the album (minus the intro) and features Maddy from the band Cults. She'll be playing the role of Veronica Boisson for tonight. You may notice from the lyrics posted a while ago on davidcomestolife.com that this song describes a happy place - David and Veronica meet and fall in love before things start to go pear shaped. What about the music, you ask? Well we wrote most of this song in 2004 or 2005 and made up the chorus and the bridge over the summer. That intro riff has been rattling around inside my head since we released Dance of Death. There's a few other tracks in this collection that are as old, kind of crazy. We were listening to a lot of Smashing Pumpkins at the time, so maybe you can hear a bit of a resemblance.

FUCKED UP - "Queen of Hearts"

Anyhow, there you go, hope you like it -that's all we have for you until you either buy the record in advance or wait like a shmuck until June 7th. Don't forget - I know we've been over this, but it's important - you can still "BUY EARLY GET NOW" until halfway into May I think - you get the 5 bonus tracks right away, you get to hear the full album starting on May 10th, and then in June you get sent the album in hardcopy as well as 4 7" singles, a poster, the Davids Town LP on mp3, whatever, all this stuff. It's like $35 - you don't have $35? To get that into your life go HERE or HERE or HERE, among other places.

We're also doing some shows coming up. In fact I leave later this evening. All the UK shows on this list are with ICE AGE from Denmark.

7th – Clwb Ifor Bach, Cardiff – UK (tickets) *MATINEE SHOW
7th – The Croft, Bristol – UK

its funny when you have high hopes for something, then it actually turns out to be as good/better than you hoped. this has been the case with every release off DCTL so far.

it's been rattling in your head because it's the same opening riff as david christmas. after being excited about the new album, my hope is beginning to wane.

Yeah, they re-use lyrics every so often, too.
But wait, how many albums/songs have they released? How long have they been around?

GOd Bless Bono here i just wanted to say that me and the Edge and Larry Mullen are fucken loving this band. We started our band in Belfast back in 1977 during the first wave of punk and were influenced by such acts as X-ray specs and David Bowie but also more avant garde stuff like James Chance and the Contortions.

It's ok, I'm not really liking the production on this album. Needs more girth. I'm really hoping it's just my computer speakers. Chemcom sounded magical on vinyl.

We have the hardcore 7"s, the zodiac 12"s, Hidden World, Chemcom, David's Town, etc, all Fucked Up, but quite different from one another.

DCTL is yet another chapter. It's going to be cool, have faith.

Joe, the Stag and Dagger thingy is a bit confusing but I got tickets anway - seems to be a normal show happening at the Village Underground in Shoreditch, 5 bands, check out the VU website but the Stag and Dagger nights seem to be the 19th and 21st.

Looks like a really cool venue, and as long as there's plenty of new songs plus Nervous Breakdown I will be a happy camper.

Dear Fucked Up. I was trying to access the comments to the May 02 post. To my surprise i did not end up on the commment page but rather on another page with a white screen and some kind of error message. I pressed the "back" button on my browser and returned to the blog, whereafter i clicked to show the comments again, and this time it worked and i could take part of the comments.

It's like this: Go to Itunes and buy "Queen of Hearts" ($.99). You don't get QOH, you get "One More Night" the 2nd to last song on DCTL. At least I think that's what it is by the lyrical content. It Rocks.
